Silda’s Jam was founded in 2021 in New York’s Hudson Valley, where orchards, farms, and a long tradition of home preserving still shape the rhythm of the seasons. Each jar is handcrafted in small batches to capture bright, balanced flavor—familiar, but distinctive.

Rooted in family tradition and refined through thoughtful ingredients, Silda’s Jam is made to be savored: at the breakfast table, alongside a cheese board, or offered as a gift meant to linger well beyond the moment it’s opened.

Our Founder

Silda grew up in North Carolina before making her home in New York. In her family, harvesting and canning were shared rituals—time spent together, preserving fruit at its peak and turning abundance into something lasting. Those early experiences stayed with her.

Years later, in the Hudson Valley, Silda returned to those traditions, making jam with fruit from her own orchard and nearby farms. Each winter, hundreds of jars were prepared by hand and given to friends and family—a deeply personal expression of care and connection.

What began as a generous holiday tradition soon revealed something more: preserves that were remarkably vibrant, naturally balanced, and quietly distinctive.

FROM KITCHEN TO JAR

A turning point came when Amanda DiRobella, a close friend and longtime champion of New York–made goods, encouraged Silda to share her preserves more widely. Made with locally sourced fruit, New York State maple syrup in place of refined sugar, and natural fruit pectin, the recipes felt both old-world and refreshingly modern.

The result is a collection of jams that taste clean and expressive—never cloying, always thoughtfully composed.

Current flavors include Gingerbread Peach, Blaspberry (blackberry + raspberry), Blueberry Elderflower, Cherry Pie, and Strawberry Rhubarb. Past seasonal favorites have included Blackberry Lemon Lavender, Lavender Peach, and Black + Blue.

Each flavor is crafted to complement both sweet and savory moments, with versatility as much a priority as indulgence.

GIVING BACK

Silda’s Jam grew not only from a love of preserving, but from a belief in supporting the communities that make good food possible.

We proudly partner with COARC, the Columbia County chapter of The Arc New York, whose manufacturing enterprise provides meaningful employment and training for people with disabilities. Through this collaboration, our jars are packed and distributed by individuals whose skill and dedication are integral to our process.

Giving back is not an afterthought—it is part of how Silda’s Jam is made.
